Plumas-Sierra Telecommunications (PST) provides broadband services to Lassen, Plumas, Sierra and Nevada counties in California, and Washoe County, Nevada. PST is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative, which is member-owned and provides electric and internet services north of Truckee.
PST recently expanded into the Truckee area thanks to an agreement with Truckee Donner PUD. The agreement allows PST to lease TDPUD’s existing fiber optic infrastructure in order to expand high-speed internet services in the area. PST is currently serving key commercial districts in Truckee and offers speeds up to 1 gigabyte per second with no data caps, and is always Net Neutral. Multiple local agency and business accounts are already connected with more in process.
The area around Highway 89 North and Interstate-80 is well covered by PST services as well as the business districts. Residential areas may be served depending on the level of interest and the costs for PST to connect.
