Violinist Bella Hristova, 2013 Avery Fisher Career Grant and a longtime Reno favorite, performs Mozart’s “Turkish” Concerto with the RCO. Also on the program are two other works by composers that, like Mozart, took inspiration from the music of a country other than their own.
Dvorák’s “American” Suite was written during his stay in the United States, and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 3 received the nickname “Polish” because of its finale in the rhythm of a Polonaise.
