The nonprofit Lake Tahoe Waterman Association (LTWA) will host the inaugural “Paddle Tahoe Mountain Luau” on August 21 to celebrate 10 years of its work to protect public access to Lake Tahoe, inspire a generation of healthy, active kids, and spark an environmentally conscious paddling lifestyle in the Tahoe-Truckee community. The 10th anniversary gala event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Truckee Philosophy and will honor longtime locals Chris Ryman and Trent Carter.
Hosted by Truckee Philosophy, the benefit evening will include food, drinks and great stories, with the LTWA to honor longtime locals Chris Ryman and Trent Carter for their tremendous and lasting support of local kids, LTWA’s work and the community’s treasured Lake Tahoe.
Tickets to the Paddle Tahoe Mountain Luau are $10 per person and available for purchase through Eventbrite. Advance registration is recommended as this event is expected to sell out. Event proceeds and contributions will help fund summer paddling camp scholarships for kids, secure critical new paddling gear, support group paddling trips and races and invest in a new paddling safety education series for 5th to 12th grade classrooms in Lake Tahoe area schools.
For those who are not able to attend, donations can be made online before or after the event. Every dollar donated helps build a generation of confident, healthy and environmentally conscious kids in the Tahoe-Truckee community. Learn more at www.laketahoewaterman.org.
