About Us

TruckeeHR is a Truckee-based HR consulting firm that helps small and mid-size employers take care of their people and stay compliant. Kim Pierce founded the company in 2015 and brings 25 years of HR experience, including senior roles at Starbucks, Amazon, and Vail Resorts. Kim has lived in Truckee for over 33 years and understands the challenges local businesses face, from seasonal hiring to keeping up with California’s changing employment laws.

Many small businesses don’t need a full-time HR person, but they still need sound HR advice. We act as your HR department so you can get practical guidance without adding a full-time position. We have worked with more than 500 clients across many states, including property management companies, nonprofits, schools, medical practices, construction firms, hospitality businesses, and tech companies.

Our services include employee handbooks and annual updates, leave administration, workplace investigations, wage and hour compliance, exempt classification, recruiting, performance management, and 360 assessments. We offer flexible options to fit your needs, including monthly retainers, prepaid banks of hours, flat-fee recruiting, and fractional HR.
