About Us

Stampede Reservoir is a beautiful high Sierra lake, popular for water sports and fishing. The reservoir is situated 15 miles northeast of Truckee. Neighbored by Boca Reservoir, Prosser Creek Reservoir, and Donner Lake, Stampede Reservoir is a great base for those who want to explore the lakes in the region.

Hikers can access Stampede Reservoir by parking off of Hwy 89N and hiking out along Sagehen Creek.

Except for campgrounds, there is no development around the lake. Water draw-downs in the late summer and fall can limit boating.
