SUMMARY:The Last Dive - FREE Outdoor Screening
DESCRIPTION:Brisltecone Film Collective and Tahoe Art Haus present "The Last Dive"\; Sponsored by Visit Truckee Tahoe We were so thrilled to share our first free summer screening with you last month watching SURFILMUSIC under the stars felt like exactly what Bristlecone was meant to be. Thank you for showing up\, for bringing friends\, for being part of building something special here in Truckee. Now we're back with our next community screening\, and we think this one's equally unmissable.\n\n\n\nDo you love stories about the ocean? About friendships that defy explanation? About an 80-year-old ex-Hell's Angel who might just remind you what it means to be alive? Great. We've got your next film. Our next screening is The Last Dive (2025)\, directed by award-winning filmmaker Cody Sheehy\, and it's a film that lingers with you long after the credits roll. What is The Last Dive? In the 1980s\, Terry Kennedy sailed to Baja Mexico with a troubled past. What he found there or perhaps what found him was Willy: a 22-foot Giant Pacific Manta Ray. For nearly two decades\, they dove together\, an unlikely bond between man and ocean that transformed Terry's life.\n\n\n\nNow in his 80s\, Terry embarks on one final journey to remote waters\, searching not just for Willy\, but for closure\, redemption\, and a chance to say goodbye to the creature that saved him. This is nature documentary in the vein of My Octopus Teacher and Grizzly Man intimate\, visually breathtaking\, and deeply human. This film is presented in partnership with our friends at the Tahoe Art Haus and sponsored by Visit Truckee Tahoe. Check out the regular line up! What to bring: BYOB\, BYO Chair Food: Casa Baeza food truck onsite
