SUMMARY:Opening Reception: Image Nation - TPAC's Spring Community Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The Truckee Public Arts Commission (TPAC) has partnered with the Nevada County Arts Council to present Image Nation for their 2017 Spring Show.  A free opening reception is planned for March 10 from 5-7 p.m. at the Truckee Community Recreation Center. Wine will be served along with yummy nibbles. We hope you can make it!\n\n\n\nThe photographs on display\, self portraits and pictures of Nevada County veterans' hands\, are the result of a therapeutic workshop conducted by master photographer and fellow vet Michael Llewellyn.  \n\n\n\nReception attendees will have a chance to meet the featured artists who served our country. Also on hand will be veteran Sandra Boyd\, who will read her poetry\, along with Llewellyn himself.\n\n\n\nBeyond the artistic value and impact of the collection\, Image Nation helps veterans express themselves and connect with each other and society\, a key element in treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.\n\n\n\nThe exhibit will hang in the Truckee Community Recreation Center's main hallway starting March 10 through June.
