About Us

Explore the rolling hills of old lumber roads along Hwy 89 between Truckee and Squaw Valley on Cabin Creek Trail. Mild elevation gain and loss over up to 6 miles of trail makes this hike great for snowshoes or cross country skis. Don’t be surprised to see packed powder from snowmobiles in this popular multi use area for winter activities. The rolling terrain and lack of crowds can make this a great location to get out cross country skiing or snowshoeing with dogs..

From Interstate 80, take Highway 89 south for 3 miles, turn right on Cabin Creek Road. The trailhead is 1 mile from the highway. A pull-out is often plowed, providing limited parking.
